The first part of the thesis is focused on the issue of safety at work and personal safety in emergencies in storage space in the logistics company and its theoretical solution. The following chapters of the thesis deal with identified risks and work including implemented risk analysis. Another part of the thesis consists of solutions for lowering cancelling the hazards of certain threats and danger. In the final part, summarize all the conclusions and suggest recommendations.
Impact of Extinguishing Substances on the Environment
Čtvrtníček, Pavel ; Buřík, Richard (referee) ; Valášek, Rudolf (advisor)
Considering of there is a constantly developing industrial and transport infrastructure, development of new chemicals and their application in the market there are also demands on fireman increasing , and fire extinguishing agent technology, which are with fires hazardous substances used. Therefore, I was in my thesis focused on how to evaluate extinguishing agents as classic as modern. Then I tried to describe the work process of soil remediation after the warehouse fire with hazardous materials. The benefit of my thesis will be a comprehensive overview of the extinguishing agent used and extinguishing procedures, which may be a suitable gadged for the commander of intervention in dealing with this type of extraordinary incident.
Analysis of approaches to emergency zones determining
Kusova, Yana ; Tabas, Marek (referee) ; Kotek, Luboš (advisor)
The current thesis aims to analyze the approaches to the definition of emergency zones in Russia and the Czech Republic. The main goal is to conduct a literature search on this issue and describe different approaches to emergency zones. The practical part includes an assessment of the definition of emergency zones in the case of hazardous chemicals leakage, which is most often the cause of industrial accidents.
Assessment of Environmental and Health Risk Sources in a Selected Company
Magera, Lukáš ; Hrabová, Kristýna (referee) ; Balgová, Zuzana (advisor)
This diploma theses deals with complex assessment of firm that handles dangerous chemical substances. Theoretical part is aimed at law and methodological requirements to evaluate every possible effect of dangerous chemical substances. Experimental part focuses on the analysis itself and in the end was evaluated the acceptability of analyzed risks.
Decontamination measures in selected external emergency plans for release of hazardous substances in the Pardubice region.
VAŠÁTKOVÁ, Klára
The subject of this dissertation is decontamination measures in the selected external emergency plans with the leakage of hazardous substances in the Pardubice region. This issue is topical because the industrial production with hazardous substances is constantly growing and expanding. This increases the probability of leakage of these hazardous substances and the risk of a negative impact on human health and environmental damage. The aim of the work was to analyze and evaluate the decontamination measures taken in external emergency plans with leakage of hazardous substances in the Pardubice region and to assess the emergency preparedness of selected companies in terms of decontamination in external emergency plans with leakage of hazardous substances in the Pardubice region. The data obtained from the research were analyzed and compared with each other according to the set criteria. Based on the results, additional procedures and information were proposed that the external emergency plan, in the section on decontamination, should contain and include. The research was carried out using the method of calculating the "preparedness index", which determines the completeness and complexity of information in decontamination measures in selected external emergency plans with the release of hazardous substances in the Pardubice Region. It was found that decontamination measures contain incomplete information, often only theoretical and therefore unusable for decontamination measures in case of leakage of hazardous substances in practice. The dissertation can serve the Regional Office of the Pardubice Region, which can use the topics contained in this work to complete the decontamination measures in the external emergency plan.

The ability of nitrogen oxides to cause a major-accident
RÖSZLER, Tomáš
This bachelor thesis is focused on the potential of nitrogen oxides in the flue gas to cause a major accident. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to assess the potential of nitrogen oxides, which are a part of the flue gas, to cause a major accident by reacting with gas phase LPG. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the current state of prevention of major accidents and the handling of chemical substances, the legal framework of this topic and the system of research. It also describes the current state in the topic of flue gas, legal framework and its origin. Finally, the theoretical part describes nitrogen oxides, their origin, characteristics, dangerous properties and methods of their analysis. The aim of this work was to assess the risk posed by nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas, in this case exhaust gases of cars and heaters, in area of major accidents prevention and the ability to cause a combustion of gas phase LPG and consequently a major accident. The necessary data for this assessment were obtained by sampling the exhaust gas, determining the concentration of nitrogen dioxide in the samples, and by then carrying out an experimental determination of whether the contact of the gases at these concentrations would cause a combustion. To find out the concentration of nitrogen dioxide in the flue gas, the Saltzman flue gas sampling and subsequent analysis method was used. The results show that passenger cars with diesel engines have the highest concentrations of nitrogen dioxide in their exhaust gas. The results of experiments with gas phase LPG did not prove the ability of nitrogen dioxide to initiate a combustion of LPG at concentrations around 100 ?g/l, or to initiate a combustion with diesel car exhaust gas.
Emergency preparedness in the chemical enterprise Synthos Kralupy a.s. in the release of hazardous substances
TYEMNYÁKOVÁ, Lucie
The risk of serious accident is increasing with the rise of the amount of chemical industry manufacturing. This accident can have immeasurable consequences. The aim of this thesis is to point out the consequences caused by leakage of dangerous substance of petrol from the biggest cistern in chemical company Synthos Kralupy a.s. and to suggest steps for emergency clearance. To fulfil the aim, examination of serious accident risks had to be carried out first. The method of Dow's Fire and Explosion Index was used for this examination which enabled evaluation of a real fire and explosion risk. Apart from these methods, another method called IAEA-TECDOC-727 was also used. Consequently, possible scenarios of dangerous substances leakage from storage cistern were created. These were simulated through software programmes ALOHA and TerEx. Acquired results were then well arranged in charts. During the research of this issue, a method of controlled interviews was used. These interviews with employees of firefighter emergency service were focused on emergency readiness of the chemical company Synthos Kralupy a.s. A cistern containing dangerous substance represents a crucial risk, even though the results showed that the accident of all petrol leakage from the cistern is very unlikely. However, this accident should not be neglected because a dangerous cloud reaching 565 m from the site of the accident would occurred. The dangerous cloud cause mortality of 70% within a distance of 2,000 m and a distance of 4,970 m to the 1 st degree burns. If all petrol leaked from the cistern, the consequences would be much bigger than just pollution. It would also include death toll, health problems and vast property damages.
The history of industrial accidents with hazardous materials in today's Czech Republic
NĚMEC, Tomáš
This thesis is divided into two main parts. The first theoretical part includes for example the introduction to valid legal regulations concerning chemical accidents. The second part includes the obtained results, which are presented in two separate subchapters. The first charter is about the most serious accidents. In less serious accidents such a loss of human life have been eliminated. This part is divided into two categories: industrial accidents that occurred up to 2000 and accidents after 2000. This thesis includes also a tabular overview of some industrial accidents.
The issue of hazardous materials sampling for the forensic purposes with application of risk engineering methods
Adamec, Vladimír ; Schüllerová, Barbora ; Fidrichová, Ivana ; Lunerová, Kamila ; Králík, Lukáš
The Risk Engineering and its methods are applied to many scientific disciplines. The gained knowledge and values are used in practice where they help experts for better orientation in the issue and accelerating the related processes. This article aims to introduce possibility of risk engineering methods and knowledge in forensic sciences with application on the specific example, when the methodology of hazardous materials sampling for the forensic purposes was created. The methodology was based on the fact that the Czech Republic has not yet issued regulation like this and the process of hazardous materials sampling was not unified with confirmity of forensic requirement.
